For ESL & the IELTS Exam

Summary of resource: I have been using this website for over five years now regularly and find it to be highly useful for my students who are ESL learners and doing the IELTS exam, particularly students looking to get a mark of between 6-8.

It answers alot of basic questions about the structure and layout of the exam. I’ve primarily used it for helping students with Speaking Tasks 1, 2 and 3 for both General and Academic IELTS tests. However it also has resources for the listening, reading and writing sections.

Pros:

  • Well organised and large variety of topics
  • Free, reliable and easy to use

Cons/ issues to take into consideration:

  • I haven’t found the writing prompts or listening section to be as useful as the speaking section
